The ESD protection card provides good protection against transients and surges in your 1wire network.
The card does not withstand direct lightning strikes, but it provides good protection against indirect strikes and ESD surges.
The card protects both DQ and +5V signals.
The protection for DQ consists of a DS9503P+ chip.
The protection for +5V consists of a TVS diode - transient voltage suppressor and a PTC resettable fuse.
It is possible to connect multiple protection circuits on the same network.
Recommended placements are at the beginning of the network to protect it from surges from the computer/1wire master, as well as near sensitive equipment or where your cable is more susceptible to surges.
Size: approximately 1.2x1.5x1cm.
